You have to master mind your profile when you are posting information on an online dating website. Your picture may be the hottest picture on the whole site, but if you want to grab the attention of someone that you might be interested in, you will have to be crafty with your profile. This is your opportunity to tell the world of singles what makes you tick.

1. Do not lie about how old you are

It is very common for people to lie about their age on these sites. If you are really seeking true love or a companion, don’t you think that they will eventually find out how old you are? Starting an encounter off based on lies is a big mistake. Dishonesty will get you no where.

2. Be Positive.

Make sure that your entire profile is optimistic. Try to focus on the things that make you happy and that you love to do. This is not a good time for you discuss things that you dislike. Keep this on the up and up.

3. Be honest about yourself

Most online services have questions set for you to answer when you build your profile. Do not lie about your marital status (divorced), height, weight, race, religion, kids, or any thing else. Remember that if you do hit it off with someone they will eventually meet you. 5. Keep your profile short and simple

It is excellent to give a good description of your interests, hobbies and other interesting things about yourself, but it needs to be kept to a fair minimal. Being wordy can be a turn off to people. If you seem sure and straight to the point, it will give a good impression.

6. Spell Check

I cannot tell you how many profiles I have read and seen misspelled words. I have to say I was pretty embarrassed for them. Some of the most intelligent people in the world are not good at spelling, but they are completely aware of the feature called spell checking and grammar on their computers. Use it.
